It all started in 2009 as a college project and after several months of, design, testing and product development input from some of the top riders and mechanics in the world of off - road motorcycling including MX legend Bob Hannah; the line was defined.
In 2010 Eddie Cole who was the founder and President of Answer Products, Protaper, Manitou, SIXSIXONE, Tag Metals, Sunline and Filtron led the Matrix team of Chadd Cole, Cameron Cole, Brady Sheren, Arnold Taylor and Brad McLean and introduced and launched the MATRIX CONCEPTS line in the spring of 2010. The company had instant success with over 20 professional and amateur teams using and endorsing the line.
The company set up and has offices and warehousing facilities in both Valencia, CA USA and Vancouver, BC Canada.
Phase 1 product strategy was focused on motorcycle off road stands, loading ramps, tie-downs, utility cans and unique line of rubber work mats.
The design team wanted to introduce a new approach to some old school products and developed a five part design criteria;
In 2011 the team added additional garage and track necessities including a line of toolboxes and several accessories. The business doubled in size and continues to grow internationally selling product in over 40 countries worldwide.
In 2012 the company doubled the business again and the Matrix Concepts product line by adding several new accessory products growing to 500 part numbers and introduced the 1.7 Cleaning Solutions line that includes complete cleaning products and accessories. The company moves to a new 16,000 sq. ft. 2 story Valencia headquarters in 2012.
For 2013 the company's growth continues adding 13 new products and plans to diversify and expand its sale efforts to include the bicycle industry with a new bicycle stand line and a specific line of 1.7 Cycling cleaning line of products.
Chadd and Cameron Cole grew up racing MX and in the motorcycle industry being introduced to the motorcycle industry at an early age, as sons of Eddie Cole who was the founder and President of Answer Products, Protaper, Manitou, SIXSIXONE, Tag Metals, Sunline and Filtron.
Brady Sheren and Brad Mclean have a similar story, their fathers both were Icons in the Canadian motorcycle industry; Brady's father, Rick Sheren was the founder of R&M Motorsports, President of Tucker / Rocky Canada and founder of Mechanix Wear Canada and SIXSIXONE Canada. Brady has had a very prestigious career as a top Canadian MX racer, racing in both Canada and the United States. Brad's father Billy Mclean was a multi national Canadian MX champion and founder of Pacific Yamaha in Vancouver, BC. Brad also has many years experience both as a MX racer and sales associate as SIXSIXONE Canada.
Arnold Taylor is the chief designer and engineer with over 30 years experience in injection molding design and engineering. Arnold has held senior design positions at Apple Computers and has done plastic engineering consulting for some of the top companies in southern California.
